Apparently, today is Lord Valentine's Day. Humph. This place doesn't seem like Majipoor, nor do I note a Castle Mount in the general vicinity. From what I know of Lord Valentine, chocolate, roses, and little candy hearts have nothing to do with his reign. Not a juggler in sight, either.
My associates tell me that I "Need a Hunny." My associates apparently don't know that I live with Bears, and any "Hunny" that might give me company on this day, or any day, has already been consumed by bears, unless you consider the sticky mess crusting their fur. They don't like to share their Hunny. Hunnys? Is "Hunny" singular and plural? Whatever the case, it is/they are gone in a blink of an eye. Excepting the crusty bits in the fur.
So: Lord Valentine's Day; no "Hunny;" what do do? I flew to the Farmer's Market to visit Maite. No Hunny, but Dulce de Leche, a certainly acceptable, and not-quite-so-available substance.
Today, it snowed. After I managed the challenge of a doorknob, I flew down Miller Ave. until I reached the Market. Dollars in my beak, I fluttered over to visit Maitelates. I had intended to purchase a fine Dulce de Leche Alfajor; fate ruled otherwise. Instead, I flew off with three Chilenitos -- sweet crispy tubes of goodness filled with Dulce de Leche!
I ate two before I remembered I should document my acquisition. They were quite tasty! I highly recommend them! Available only on Market Day!
